Role Summary

Key Qualifications/Requirements

Experience in CNC / manufacturing environment

Experience with use of basic measurement instruments

Working knowledge of English language, both written and oral

Must be able and willing to work overtime as necessary including weekends when required

Key Responsibilities

Fill in the safety checklist before each shift and follow all of the necessary safety rules and use all safety equipment prescribed to the job

Practice good housekeeping by keeping the work station clean of oil, debris, rags and any other contaminate that may affect the production during the shift and ensure the area is left clean and prepared for the next shift

Follow standardized work and meet production targets. Using the Andon System alert the Production Lead Hand immediately of any potential or actual roadblocks that may affect meeting SQTCM targets or requirements.

Abide by all quality standards by performing inspections, completing control cards, as required and SPC charting

Follow the escalation process by reporting any problems pertaining to the machine or cell that could affect part quality and/or quantity to the Production Lead Hand

Alert the Production Lead Hand of all departures from the workstation (washroom breaks, etc)

Participate in total team involvement by communicating specific information about issues with the machine and/or station to support staff when they arrive to understand and fix the problem

Attend all mandatory daily and monthly meetings, including the pre-shift business unit meeting and monthly employee communication meetings

Arrive to workstation at least five minutes prior to the start of scheduled shift (start of shift, after break)

Never reset machines.

Perform all job functions in a safe and healthful manner, abiding by all health, safety and environmental rules and regulations, promoting safety in the workplace. Report all accidents/incidents and unsafe conditions/behavior

Comply with the requirements of C-TPAT/PIP. Adhere to applicable quality systems and IATF 16949 standards

Conduct business in an ethical manner in compliance with the Magna Code of Conduct

Adhere to and promote the Employee Charter and work within the rules, regulations and guidelines of the MSM Employee Handbook

Initiate and embrace company change

Follow Operators’ Downtime Escalation Process, participate in monthly Health & Safety Quiz and the Company’s Continuous Improvement program. Actively and positively support the continued practice of Common Values behaviours

Maintain work area in accordance with the principles of 5S and operate daily within these standards. Ensure work area is kept neat and organized

Perform other duties as required
