Finance Administrator

Fixed term until 30th November 2023

Starting salary for this position is £23,304 per annum (plus contributory pension)

The successful candidate can choose to work from MAG’s Manchester office or to work from home within the UK, with attendance in the office as required. The anticipated level of required office attendance is two days a month.

MAG (Mines Advisory Group) is an international humanitarian organisation based in Manchester, UK, and working in 32 countries. We remove landmines and unexploded ordnance to release safe and productive land for communities, and work to reduce the threat of armed violence by supporting governments to safely manage weapons and ammunition. In 1997, MAG was a co-recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize for our work campaigning for the Anti-Personnel Mine Ban Convention.

We are looking for an exceptional Finance Administrator to join our dynamic and successful Corporate Finance Team.

Your administrative skills will help make a real difference supporting our global lifesaving work, whilst allowing you to gain the experience in a very busy Corporate Finance department. This will be a varied and challenging role where you will develop finance experience by taking on responsibility for the administrative tasks associated with departmental transactional processes including purchase and sales ledger, payroll, and financial compliance.

This role would be suitable for anyone wishing to start a career in Finance but essentially you will have a strong administrative background, be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word, as well as have strong numerical and analytical skills. Above all, you will need to be approachable, flexible, super organised, have a good eye for detail and be ready to work in a busy and varied role, taking pride in your work and striving for perfection. Previous experience of working in a similar role or of using a PSF accounting system would be desirable, but not essential.
