Accounting and Finance Manager

DESCRIPTION

Mad Cave seeks an experienced Accounting and Financial Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to join a young comics publisher, and exercise your strategic finance and accounting skills by working closely with the CEO, VP of Business Development, The Publisher, and the CFO. The duties of this position require 40 work hours each week to be carried out at the Mad Cave office based in Miami, Florida.

The successful candidate will be strategic, analytical, and have a demonstrated ability to influence the decisions of senior business leaders through effective verbal and written communication, financial analysis, logical reasoning, and the presentation of alternatives. The Publishing entity is also a creator of original graphic novels. Qualifications

• 3+ years of finance experience or a related analytical field or Operational Finance in a growth company or global company

• Ability to partner with cross-functional teams and communicate with all levels of management

• Advanced Excel and presentation building skills with experience in creating financial models, balance sheets, P&Ls, and clear, concise presentation materials

• Ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail

• Strong analytical, planning, and organization skills, ability to handle multiple ad-hoc requests and projects

• Strong listening and critical thinking skills

• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing

• Ability to prioritize and multitask

• Have a “no job is too big or too small” attitude and a “take charge” mentality

• Meticulous attention to detail

• Flexibility with the ability to adjust to a constantly changing environment

• Able to think on your feet and to problem solve

• Spanish is a plus but not required

• Knowing the comic book industry (pop culture) is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage annual and multi-year budgets that are adequate for the organization’s needs including the preparation of periodic budget forecasts

• Create financial planning and monthly P&L for all Mad Cave and its subsidiaries

• Prepare and maintain cash flow analyses as needed

• Create monthly financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, and statement of cash flows) and effectively convey analysis to staff as requested

• Oversee year-end books for audit

• Ensure operational compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations for any necessary entities Develop and implement standardized financial reports

• Work closely with senior management to create/review financial models ranging from new business opportunities to long term plans and conduct monthly business reviews

• Planning, reporting, and new business development needs

• Identify and implement reporting improvements; deep dive into business needs and analyze business opportunities/investments

• Controllership of monthly financial reporting and understanding/communicating financial impacts.

• Work closely with senior management to create/review financial models ranging from new business opportunities to long term plans and conduct monthly business reviews

• Enhance existing financial reporting and create internal and external executive reporting documents from scratch

• Actively participate in the implementation of business intelligence tool and FP&A tool

• Handle Ad-hoc projects as needed

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year depending on experience.
