• Salary Package: from $75,400 to $85,728 p.a. (Level 5), plus 17% employer’s Superannuation and annual leave loading
• Appointment Type: Full-time, fixed term up to 30 June 2022
• Macquarie University (North Ryde) location

THE ROLE

We are looking for an enthusiastic team member who is passionate about student support, customer service and higher education sector. Reporting to the Faculty Student Administration manager, you will be providing assistance and support through all aspects of student life. This includes student lifecycle processing, administration, advice and support to the faculty staff and students.

You will have strong organisational skills, including planning, scheduling, prioritisation required in the management of multiple events, as well as excellent communication skills with the ability to negotiate and build relationships.

The Faculty of Science and Engineering offers both undergraduate and postgraduate Degree programs across a diverse range of disciplines. With over 5,800 students enrolled across these programs including a growing international cohort, the faculty is committed to providing a quality and wholistic student experience.

Faculty Student Services, among other teams are situated under the Associate Dean, Learning and Teaching and the Associate Dean, Quality & Standards Portfolio’s and cover a wide breadth of support services for both students and staff across the faculty from program, curriculum and secretariat support to student experience, engagement and student success with a focus on key cohorts and engagement with student societies.

Within the Associate Dean, Quality and Standards remit, the Faculty Student Centre provides quality program and administrative advice and support to students across the full student lifecycle, from enquiry through to alumni. The staff form part of the tiered approach to student enquiries and are subject matter experts in student related policy and procedure for all stakeholders, particularly departmental professional and academic staff, to ensure a holistic and consistent experience for students and staff across their interactions with the institution.

Essential:

• Post-secondary qualifications and/or equivalent experience in the higher education sector;
• Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy, time management and organisational skills in a high-volume environment;
• Track record of providing a professional service to customers including exceptional verbal and written communication skills and the demonstrated ability to communicate with a range of customers via different modes (e.g. face to face, e-mail, CRM’s)
• Working with organisational and administration systems, policies and procedures (preferably student focused in the higher education sector), and applying policy to day to day activities for an organisational group or across the student lifecycle;
• Demonstrated experience in contributing to the continuous improvement of organisational initiatives, processes, procedures or systems
• Demonstrated track record of working collaboratively in a team to achieve organisational goals
