  • Casual HEW Level 1 $36.39 per hour
THE ROLE
Open to current MQBS Students only
As a MQBS Student Assistant you will provide support and assistance across a range of MQBS events, outreach initiatives and administrative functions. The work you undertake across the year will be highly varied and may see you involved in a range of different workshops, seminars, events and outreach activities. To support this work your tasks may range from administrative assistance, speaking and presenting to students, logistical support and the set-up and pack-up of workshops and seminar style events. Afterhours and weekend work, both on and off campus may be required to support particular events and initiatives.
ABOUT YOU
You will be a current MQBS undergraduate or postgraduate student with completion of 40cp or above and a WAM of 65 or above. Successful applicants will have an outgoing, positive energy with enthusiasm for university life, community and the student journey. You will be able to demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills combined with excellent organisation and time management.

COMMITMENT
The MQBS Student Assistant is appointed for a period of one year. This position is on an as-needs basis, based on MQBS workload, and is not intended to be a replacement for any regular casual work. MQBS does not guarantee a minimum number of working hours per year.

SELECTION CRITERIA
Essential
  • Current MQBS undergraduate/postgraduate student, with completion of 40cp or above and weighted average mark (WAM) of 65 or above
  • Positivity and enthusiasm for university life and community
  • Passion for the promotion of MQBS and the student journey
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills: interpersonal and group communication skills, with an ability to give clear instructions
  • Awareness of the structure including academic, extra-curricular activities and student opportunities
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to show initiative and to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to commit to the program for a minimum of a year
  • Experience using MS Teams and Microsoft Office
Desirable
  • Flexible academic timetable
  • Public Speaking or presenting experience
  • Strong knowledge basis in your field of study
  • A valid NSW driver’s licence
  • A valid NSW Working with Children’s Check
