• Salary Package: From $75,400 – $85,728 per annum (HEW Level 5), plus 17% employer’s superannuation
• Appointment Type: Full-time, fixed term until August 2022.
• Location: Macquarie University, North Ryde

THE ROLE

The Office of Financial Services (OFS) is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Finance Shared Services Officer to join the Revenue Services team to provide critical support with student ledger and student services area including managing student enquiries, processing of student loans, grants, refunds and account adjustments.

Reporting to the Revenue Manager, you will be responsible for:

• Processing transactions into the relevant student administration and finance systems, which may include receipting of student payments, adjustments to student financial transactions and journals.
• Reconciling student account transactions and seek approval for amendments, as required.
• Responding to and investigating or escalating queries from multiple stakeholders (staff, student & external) concerning Student Fee and Finance Shared Service activities.
• Managing debt collection processes, including planning, monitoring, reporting and analysis.
• Handling and resolving internal and external customer enquiries in accordance with the organisation’s Resolution Model.

You will have good verbal and written communication skills to provide clear and concise information to a diverse group of students over the phone and by email. You enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and have suitable skills and relevant experience to hit the ground running in this role.

You will enjoy involvement in process improvement initiatives, providing constructive insight and possible alternative approaches in relation to day-to-day procedures, system functionality and service efficiencies.

• Degree or certificate in Accounting/Finance and/or relevant experience.
• Experience in one or more areas of finance shared services (accounts payable, accounts receivable including cashiers or purchasing) within a large and complex environment.
• Experience in the management of debt collection activities, including creating and implementing new processes, and undertaking complex reporting and analysis to identify and highlight risk.
• Proven experience in process improvement including system functionality
• Understanding and experience in the complexities of the Student Life Cycle would be highly desirable.
• Understanding and good knowledge of various systems such as Finance One and Student One.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, including intermediate to advanced skills in Excel.
• Building and maintaining collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
