OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking to appoint an Assistant Accountant to join our team in the Dandenong office. This is a new position. Reporting to the Accountant and mentored by our CFO, you will be responsible for assisting with a wide range of accounting functions.

• Preparation of annual statutory returns
• BAS Statements
• FBT Returns
• Tax Returns
• Organising annual insurances including Maintenance of the insurance and claims registers
• Preparation and maintenance of premises lease schedules
• Preparation of quarterly banking reports and the monitoring of financial covenants
• Managing cash flow and preparing a cash flow report on a daily basis
• Managing finance schedules and EFT arrangements
• Reconciliation and balancing of general ledger accounts
• Gathering and preparing information for annual audit and assisting auditors with any further requirements
• Calculating annual and long service provisions
• Conducting regular audit checks on key operational issues
• Assisting with the review, implementation and documentation of procedures and control checks
• Maintenance and posting of accruals, prepayments and other such journals on a monthly basis

ABOUT YOU

• An Accounting degree
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Extensive experience on accounting software systems and Excel
• Advantageous to have previous experience in a law firm or professional services organisation

The successful applicant will be required to undertake and satisfy a National Police Records Check.
