Vice President of Finance

M. Roberts Media, LLC is a growing media and marketing solutions company that delivers unique experiences for consumers and advertisers across many platforms and markets. M. Roberts Media has operations in six Texas Markets (Longview, Tyler, Victoria, Kilgore, Marshall, and Carthage) We publish the newspapers and websites in each market along with related magazines and events. The company is also the dominate commercial printing provider in East Texas under the brand TCM Printing. The company also has investments in real estate as well.

We are seeking a full-time Vice President of Finance to be based in Longview. This person will direct the accounting and control functions and will report directly to the company President. Having recently moved all accounting functions to Longview this position will need to organize and streamline the independent accounting operations and staff in into one high performing team.

Responsibilities:

· Manages all accounting operations including the company’s financial statements, general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, tax compliance, and various special analyses

· Oversees payroll processing

· Supports the preparation of the budgets and the financial forecasts and reports variances

· Report quarterly financial results to the Board of Directors

· Prepares and reports timely monthly financial statements

· Oversees month-end and year-end close processes

· Researches technical accounting issues for compliance

· Ensures quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting

· Manages and complies with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings

· Develops and implements business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls

· Maintains relationships with outside vendors

· Prepare required year-end documents

Qualifications:

· 5+ years of controller experience preferred

· BS in Accounting or Finance

· Strong understanding of GAAP

· Proficient in Excel and Word

· Attention to detail; ability to operate with a very high level of accuracy

· Problem solving and analytical skills

· Sense of accountability for quality of own work as well as the work of others on the team

· Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills; must be capable of explaining complex information to others in a straightforward manner

· Some Travel required

· Must be able to pass all pre-employment testing requirements
