Buyer Job Position

Job Mission: To ensure assigned goods arrive and/or services are performed at the appropriate quality, quantity, cost & time levels in support of site Production & Operations requirements/schedules.

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities

* Order goods and/or services while minimizing inventory levels & costs

* Create, conduct, analyze & award Requests For Proposals

* Provide suppliers with forecast requirements

* Identify & lead cost-reduction projects with suppliers & internal team members

* Lead or participate in cost increase mitigation & supplier consolidation activities

* Support inventory & cost accuracy by conducting audits/reviews of shipments & invoices

* Communicate engineering design changes with suppliers

* Support resolution of product quality issues with all stakeholders

* Takes initiative to prevent potential supply chain issues & resolve existing challenges

Additional Responsibilities

* Assist with year-end physical inventory activities

* Work with other Aebi-Schmidt sites on strategic Supply Chain & Procurement initiatives

* Participate in 1 – 2 Kaizen Events annually; Support other events when appropriate

* Lead the identification, assessment & on-boarding of new suppliers

* Analyze & change minimum inventory levels to meet Production & After-Sales requirements

Job Requirements

* Prior experience ordering Direct and/or Indirect goods & services, preferably in a manufacturing environment

* Prior experience resolving supply chain disruptions with minimum impact to budgets & production/operations

* Ability to influence internal & external stakeholders

* Be adaptable to manage competing demands & deal with frequent changes, delays or unexpected events

* Business/Financial acumen to understand contracts, product cost breakdowns, ROI, etc.

* Project management skills/experience

* Six Sigma Green Belt or higher

* Production planning experience

* Ability & willingness to travel to suppliers, trade shows, other company locations, etc

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $52,287.00 – $54,865.00 per year
