WHAT WE DO
The Careers, Work Experience & Progression team works across college to help prepare students for their next steps, through activities such as coordinating work experience placements, carrying out careers guidance interviews, and supporting curriculum departments with the delivery of careers education.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Provide one-to-one careers information, advice and guidance to students
Develop and apply knowledge of Career and Labour Market Intelligence to meet student and staff needs Initiate and develop effective working relationships with college curriculum teams, supporting understanding and implementation of careers education within curriculum delivery
Assess and monitor portfolios of Level 2 and Level 3 IAG candidates’ work and ensure completion within agreed deadline and target date
Mentor a trainee careers adviser, supporting them to carry out careers guidance activities to the required standards
YOUR PROFILE
Hold an assessor award D32/33, V1 or similar (or be willing to work towards a Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment (NVQ)) The successful candidate must start this qualification within the first six months of being in post if they do not already hold this qualification
Experience of delivering information, advice and guidance in an education setting
Knowledge of careers education, employability, post 16 study programme, Gatsby Benchmarks and the National Careers Strategy Good communication skills with the ability to relate to, and work with, students from age 14 to adults
Able to work on own initiative and as part of a team
