LTF Recruitment are currently working with an ‘Outstanding’ Primary School in Newham, who are seeking an experienced Team Teach trained Teaching Assistant with Special educational needs experience to join their school’s dedicated support staff team. The role will involve working 1:1 supporting a KS2 pupil with ASD and who showcases challenging behaviour, helping them with their work and learning and to manage and overcome behavioural problems. The role is available to start in September, working for the full academic year, and for the right candidate will become a permanent position.

Main Duties will entail:

• Working 1:1 with identified pupils to deliver bespoke support to children with challenging behaviour, ASD and other associated needs

• Working closely with pupils who experience difficulties in the classroom and encouraging them to engage in the curriculum

• Removing children from class when their behaviours are disruptive.
• Adapting your support and approach according to needs of the children

It will be desirable for the candidate to:

• Team Teach Qualification or equivalent is essential
• Be confident and calm when managing challenging behaviour

• Experience working with ASD, and challenging behaviour is essential
• Have a passion to support and engage children with a range of learning needs

• Be Patient, Resilient and be flexible in your approach
