Senior Finance Officer

Salary from £31,029 to £35,635 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £38,283 pa inclusive of London allowance

The Senior Finance Officer is part of the Financial Reporting and Compliance (FRC) team within the wider Finance Division. The FRC team are responsible for the financial statement preparation, management of the year-end audit process and preparation & reconciliation of the monthly balance sheet & cashflow reports for LSE, its subsidiaries & other related entities.

You would report to the Group Financial Accountant and Financial Accountants in the FRC team and would be responsible for effective and efficient financial accounting, reconciling the School’s and its related entities’ balance sheet items, reporting on their financial performance as well as other tasks such as system interface reconciliations and ad-hoc financial analysis.

Candidates should have

• Some financial accounting experience & skills or be in the process of studying for a formal accounting qualification (AAT/CIMA/ACA/ACCA)

• Good organisational skills and attention to detail

• Good oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate with customers who many not be financially trained to explain the financial regulations, financial processes and budgetary matters.

• Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel (look-up functions, if/sum-if, pivot tables)
