Salary from £46,792 to £54,094 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £60,244 pa inclusive of London allowance
This is 3 years fixed term appointment. Secondments from other roles would be actively considered.
The LSE School of Public Policy equips students with the skills and ideas to transform people and societies. We are an international community where ideas and practice meet, creating professionals with the ability to analyse, understand and resolve the challenges of contemporary governance.
The Role
We are now seeking to appoint a Head of Academic Growth and Operations. This is a fixed-term and projects-based role to drive and guide the academic growth of the School of Public Policy in line with the ambitions of our strategic plan. The post-holder will lead a range of development projects to create, grow and integrate new academic initiatives into the School of Public Policy, liaising with external partners, funders, and working across LSE. The post-holder will also take primary responsibility for the non-teaching operations, including management of research funds, faculty affairs, visiting academic appointments and space management.
This is a developmental role for an experienced higher education administrator comfortable working with autonomy and engaging with academic, research and policy track colleagues to propose appropriate courses of action. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively in proposing courses of action to senior stakeholders, and the proven ability to develop strong and effective professional relationships across organisational boundaries, and with external partners that facilitate the achievement of shared goals. With a professional commitment to high standards in delivery and an ability to see strategic opportunities, the post-holder will be able to think and act creatively and work autonomously in problem-solving. Substantial managerial experience in a research-intensive university is essential.
