Group Financial Accountant

Salary from £55,171 to £63,883 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £70,790 pa inclusive of London allowance. A market supplement may also be considered

The Group Financial Accountant is part of the Financial Reporting and Compliance (FRC) team within the wider Finance Division. The FRC team are responsible for the financial statement preparation, management of the year-end audit process and preparation & reconciliation of the monthly balance sheet & cashflow reports for LSE, its subsidiaries & other related entities.

You would report to the Head of Financial Reporting and Compliance and would be responsible for managing an effective and efficient financial accounting function made up of 5 staff, producing and reviewing monthly and annual consolidated financial statements, managing the School’s balance sheet items and reporting on the School’s subsidiaries and related entities financial performance.

Candidates should have-

• Substantial financial accounting experience & skills and hold a recognised accountancy qualification (e.g. ACA/ACCA)

• Experience in managing staff including qualified accountants

• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

• Good oral and written communication skills and the experience in communicating financial issues succinctly to non-financially trained staff

• Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel (look-up functions, if/sum-if, pivot tables)
