Responsibilities:

• Review and analyze business requirements working with cross-functional teams.
• Develop and maintain Java-based Web applications and Web services.
• Develop and enhance product offerings in accordance with design and consistent with business objectives.
• Develop testable, scalable and efficient code.
• Participate in code reviews.
• Maintain up to date code documentation.
• Test and debug new applications and updates.
• Contribute to use test cases preparation and integration testing as required.
• Assist in customer support including problem resolution on site as well as via e-mail, phone or via the internet through a remote connection as required.
• Validate work package level of effort with project manager/team lead at project inception and on ongoing basis.
• Assist in preparation of training material, user and system documentation as required.
• Assist in the development and review of level of effort and scope on work packages or projects.

Specific Skills:

• Programming Languages: Groovy/Java, JavaScript, SQL.
• Technologies: Grails 3-4, Java 8, J2EE, Hibernate, Spring, Java Web Services.
• Web Programming (Bootstrap, WET-4, JQuery, JSON, HTML5, SASS, CSS).
• Application Web Servers: Tomcat, Weblogic.
• Databases: Oracle, PostgreSQL (proficiency in at least one relational database).
• Tools: IntelliJ IDEA, Eclipse, JDeveloper, Docker, Kubernetes, TOAD.
• Object-relational mapping: Hibernate, Open JPA, Spring Data JPA, JDBC.
• Testing tools: JUnits, Spock, Geb.
• Web User Interface Design, Software Requirements, Software Development Process, Object-Oriented Design (OOD).
• Critical thinking, creativity, strong deductive reasoning and persistence.
• Quick learning ability.
• Complex problem solving ability.
• Ability to work as part of a distributed team as well as independently.
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Requirements:

• University graduate in computer science or equivalent.
• 4 years or more of full-stack, web focused development.
• English spoken and written.
• Telecommunication experience an asset.
• French an asset.
