Lotus Sustainables Hiring for Assistant Controller Job at Remote Full Time

We’re Lotus Sustainables, a fast growing, fun eco-brand that’s on a mission to eliminate plastic from shopping. With eliminating the need to use over 2.75 Billion plastic bags, our products are in over 15,000 retailers and online as a best seller. In 2020 we ranked as the 144th Fastest Growing Company in America on the INC 5000. This year we expect to double our retail presence and build a household brand. Our company is currently looking for a team player as a part time Assistant Controller with the opportunity to quickly move full time. This position also has the opportunity to take part in equity upside.

Our ideal candidate will have great finance and accounting experience and be highly proficient in all forms of transactional accounting & financial reporting across the general ledger. Experience working with a consumer product company that is selling through retail chains and online sellers like amazon and shopify is a big plus and preferred. Quickbooks Enterprise and QBO experience is a must. The team member will be on a remote basis and look to work 20+ hours a week to start. The candidate should have great communication skills, be passionate about promoting eco-friendly and sustainable solutions. You will serve as a key business partner to the CEO and the leadership team. Your ultimate goal will be to partner with the CEO to drive the company towards growth, profitability and have global impact.

Required skills and experience:

• Experience with Quickbooks Enterprise and Online is a must – needs to be highly proficient.

• Some experience working with and selling to retail chains such as Walmart, Target, Kroger etc is a must.

• Experience with inventory management is a must

• Experience with Amazon FBA is a plus

• Experience dealing with promotional deductions and managing through retail portals is ideal.

• Must enjoy wearing multiple hats and working in a exciting startup environment.

• Assist management with monthly and annual financial planning reporting and analysis.

• Assist team with invoicing, AP, AR, reporting and broker payments.

• Prepare financial documents such as business reports, financial forecasts and statements to understand the financial state of business

• Closing the books each month, financial reporting, sales order management, PO review, inventory, spreadsheet excellence.

• Building process, systems and structures to insure preparation of accurate and timely financial statements

• Provide accurate and timely financial reports to the CEO and Board of Directors.

• Will be required to do margin evaluations for each SKU and create reports for the CEO.

• Develop actionable management reporting, dashboards, and KPIs as well as oversee monthly variance analysis and operating reviews to track overall business success;

• Work closely and collaborate with management teams to gather, analyze and prepare recommendations regarding financial plans, operating forecasts and other analytical projects;

• Develop and monitor quarterly and annual rolling cash flows projections;

• Develop liquidity reporting, inclusive of borrowing base calculations, amounts drawn and available etc

• Experience with monthly margin analysis and financial projections.

• Monitor a company’s financial reports and determine ways to reduce costs

• Ability to improve the accounting processes.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

• Minimum of 5 years experience with accounting & controller activities

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting – CPA preferred

• Ability to manipulate and analyze & deliver insights and recommendations based on large data sets using advanced Excel skills

• A sense of urgency, self-motivation & ability to multi-task with excellent follow through

• Ability to flex to the ever-changing needs of the business; be nimble in strategy and shift to achieve company objectives

Job Type: Part-time with opportunity for full time after initial engagement + equity opportunity.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $70,000.00 – $110,000.00 per year
