Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) is seeking highly motivated, collaborative, and passionate candidates for the Immigrant Relations Coordinator position.
The Immigrant Relations Coordinator coordinates and provides technical, specialized, consultative and advisory support and leadership services in the area of immigrant youth relations and services to LACOE divisions and school districts in Los Angeles county.

The Well Qualified Candidate Will Possess the Following
Knowledge:
Applicable sections of Federal laws, the California Education Code, California Code of Regulations, and policies, rules and regulations of the Los Angeles County Office of Education
Relevant guidelines and best practices pertaining to the coordination of educational and immigrant programs
Effective management and administration techniques
Training, program development, group facilitation, and consultation
Public and private funding sources, funding acquisition procedures and expenditure regulations
Program assessment, design, and evaluation procedures
Fundamental concepts of employment laws, codes, and regulations, including EEO, FLSA, FMLA, and Cal/OSHA
Trauma informed care and other related mental health services
Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other Microsoft Office applications

Required Education and Experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree with upper level coursework in a field closely related to the job requirements of this classification from an institution of higher learning accredited by a regional accrediting organization recognized by the Council of Higher Education Accreditation. Foreign degrees and credit units require translation and equivalency established by an agency recognized by the Commission on Teacher Credentialing.
Experience: Four years of experience in in the field of social and community services, and one-year experience working with/for immigrant organizations.
Additional Requirements: A valid California driver’s license, proof of insurability, and the availability of private transportation or the ability to provide transportation between job sites is required. Bilingual proficiency in oral and written Spanish and translating from English to Spanish and from Spanish to English is desirable.
Remote, work-from-home, or hybrid work days may be available. To ensure the health and safety of its staff, LACOE will require all employees to provide evidence of full vaccination against COVID-19.
Selection Process
