About the role
Due to the retirement of the current post holder, Education and Inclusion at London Borough of Redbridge have an exciting opportunity for a manager to effectively lead, develop and support Education Welfare Team and their schools to meet and exceed targets and provide a service with impact. The Education Welfare Service Operational manager will secure the statutory functions placed on the LA for pupil absence, child employment/ licensing and Children Missing
This position has many aspects to the role. The role holder will be responsible for supporting staff development and allocating resources accordingly, ensuring all appropriate cases are processed in a timely and efficient manner, providing strategic assistance to schools and analysis of available data to demonstrate the impact of the work. The role is also responsible for the traded element of the Education Welfare Service and providing excellent customer service to our schools.

Essential experience:
You must have experience in a managerial or senior officer role, responsible for securing positive outcomes for children and young people. You should have good experience and knowledge of the statutory responsibilities that an Education Welfare Services carries out on behalf of the Local Authority and have strong data analysis and reporting skills. You must also have experience or a good understanding of traded work with schools and have experience of dealing with parental and school feedback.
Previous experience of working with children, young people and their families is required, preferably, but not exclusively, within an educational setting. You will need to be enthusiastic, committed to the values of education and be able to organise your work efficiently and effectively. Full supervision and training will be provided.
