Hillingdon Museums, based in Uxbridge and Ruislip, run the Battle of Britain Bunker, London Borough of Hillingdon’s Local Studies archive and exhibitions, the Manor Farm House and Eastcote House Gardens interpretation.
About the role

We have ambitious plans to expand over the next few years. We are seeking a new Education Assistant to support our team. This is an exciting time to join our rapidly developing learning programme, which has expanded across several different heritage sites.
Your main responsibility will be to support and facilitate visits as part of our successful and popular learning programme; based at the Battle of Britain Bunker, Manor Farm House and Eastcote House Gardens, as well as providing support to the wider Museums and Archives team.
You will work with schools from across the borough, to engage and inspire them with their own local history. This involves a combination of short talks, interactive learning activities, and giving tours around our historic sites.
You will also be involved in assisting the Education Officer in developing family and school activities, conducting audience research, resource management and other similar duties.
About you
You are enthusiastic about facilitating learning and sharing the story of the Battle of Britain Bunker to our many young visitors.
You are able to work well with visitors of different ages and learning abilities. You are passionate about working with and supporting our team of volunteers.
You will need a background in delivering educational sessions, whether in a heritage setting or elsewhere. You are organised, energetic, and flexible.
You will have excellent verbal communication skills, and have a friendly, enthusiastic approach. You will have an interest in history and historic properties.
