About The Opportunity
Position Summary
Manages all warehouse activities. Manages the warehouse ensuring the receipt, coordination, and safety of goods coming through a warehouse. Also ensures that orders arrive and are dispatched on time to the appropriate destinations and in the expected quantities.
Essential to this Position
This exciting opportunity is responsible for all shift activities at a high volume, fast paced cross-dock / distribution operation including the receipt, processing, coordination, quality and safety of materials coming through the site. Also ensures compliance to dispatch / shipping schedule to the appropriate destinations and in accurate quantities.
This position will work 7:30am-5pm Monday through Friday
- Daily review of production and quality metrics and KPI’s (Labor expense, Forklift/Equipment Repairs, Productivity, Shipping Errors/Discrepancies)
- Direct continuous improvement to maximize efficiency and eliminate waste throughout facility
- Achieve budgeted financial goals for facility
- Maintain accurate inventory and transaction quantities
- Lead investigation, root cause, and countermeasures for any load failures, including but not limited to over loads, misdirected freight, and missed schedules, Establish, follow and maintain 5S Program for facility
- Responsible for facility staffing needs
- Ensure all employees are meeting job requirements
- Motivate and train employees to maintain succession plan for future growth/opportunities
- Facilitate payment of site invoices with Finance, including inputs, approvals, new vendor information.
Essentials for Success:
- Manage multi shift operation with 75+ associates adn 6+ exempt members of management
- First point of contact for customer related questions and issues
- Champion for Safety, Human Resources and Continuous Improvement
- Minimum 5 – 7 years of supervisory experience in a fast-paced logistics and warehouse environment
- Knowledge in data entry using a Warehouse Management System (WMS) required
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Lean manufacturing best practices experience
- Experience in training and employee development required
- Strong supervision of a production/warehouse process, budget, and business operations is strongly desired with an understanding to lead by example
- Excellent skills in multi-tasking and proactive thinking
- Success, change driven and ability to make decisions quickly
