Logan City Council Hiring for Network Engineer at Australia Full Time

In this Permanent Full Time Position as Network Engineer, you will be responsible to maintain and support all facets of Council’s data and voice networks. The (IT) branch is growing rapidly and we have new technologies in use with no two days the same.

The Information Technology Services (IT) branch exists to make life easier by securely connecting Council and the Community using effective technology solutions.

The branch delivers its service through eight teams across our four programs, namely: IT Strategy and Governance, Enterprise IT, End User Services, IT Foundation Services.

Elements Of The Role Include

• Planning, deployment and maintenance of network technologies
• Day to day management and maintenance of network equipment and telephony systems
• Provide second and third level support for network and telephony systems
• Assist with researching, developing, and implementing new network systems and technologies as required
• Assisting with infrastructure and telephony projects as required
• Assist with the development, improvement, and maintenance of documentation, processes, and procedures
• Keeping current on emerging trends, and technologies
• Provide expert advice to our internal teams, staff, and projects in the areas of networking and telephony

Minimum Requirements Of The Role Include

• Relevant IT certifications would be highly regarded (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, ITIL etc.)
• C Class Drivers Licence Required
• Required to undergo a Police/Background Check
• Demonstrated relevant work experience in a similar role, ideally in a medium to large complex organisation.
• In-depth understanding of IT network systems (routers, switches, wireless, microwave, fibre, cabling etc).
• Well-developed skills in the support, implementation, and maintenance of network infrastructure in a large organisation.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
