Logan City Council Hiring for Leisure Centres Program Leader at Brisbane, Queensland, Australia Full Time

This fulltime permanent Leisure Centres Program Leader position s directly to the Venues & Events Manager, primarily located at Springwood but will be required to travel across all venues across Logan City.

The Leisure Centre Program Leader will lead and empower their teams who are responsible for delivering exceptional experiences within aquatic, health, sport, and recreation experiences that engage the Logan community in an active, fun, healthy and safe environment.

As a Leisure Centre Program Leader, you will have a diverse sweep of responsibilities, where strategic leadership and the ability to effectively communicate are essential. This role will have you overseeing a large team, managing business operations in accordance with Council values and legislation. Promoting a positive learning culture for the team, where knowledge and ideas are welcomed.

This crucial role requires you to provide expert advice for matters relating to the projects and operations of the program, such as aquatic and indoor sports centres, contractual obligations of commercial leases and event procurement.

Requirements Of The Role Include

  • Lead and deliver a safety-first mindset.
  • Excellent people leadership skills & experience leading teams through change.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering exceptional customer service outcome in public facing enterprises.
  • Strong demonstrated experience managing commercial leisure facilities, preferably within a local government framework.
  • A strategic mindset with strong business acumen and experience developing and delivering business cases to achieve commercial outcomes.
  • Strong comprehension and demonstrated experience managing and ing against budgets and profit and loss metrics.
  • Engaging, advocating, and negotiating with members of the public, internal and external stakeholders in delivering excellent customer service; building and maintaining collaborative partnerships.
  • Ensuring compliance with all workplace health and safety statues, regulations, prescribed procedures, obligations, and responsibilities.

Minimum Requirements Of The Role Include

  • minimum of 5 years leadership experience within a similar environment
  • Pool Plant Operators Certificate (or willing to obtain)
  • Senior first aid and resuscitation certificate
  • Responsible Management of a Licensed Venues Accreditation, issued by Queensland Liquor Licensing Division (or willing to obtain)
  • Working with Children Blue Card
  • meet pre-employment functional assessment requirements
  • well-developed leadership and political acumen
  • ‘C’ class drivers’ licence
  • ability to provide a satisfactory result for a National Police History Check
