Logan City Council Hiring for Financial Analyst at Marsden, Queensland, Australia Full Time

In this Permanent Full-Time position of Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for providing a range of activities around budget development and performance, forward forecasting, financial analysis and ing for the Road Construction and Maintenance (RCM) Branch. The role also coordinates the service enhancement process for the branch and provides strategic insight into the financial feasibility of potential change, business, and service level related decisions, including being responsible for the supervision of two officers within the RCM finance team.

You will exercise leadership, guidance and mentoring to staff across the branch in relation to financial and budget matters. You will also have a strong focus on continuous improvement and developing strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders is important.

Elements Of The Role Include

• Coordinating the development, enhancement, effective implementation, and ing of financial budgeting processes, including preparation of the annual capital and operational budget and service enhancements
• Responsible for the provision of timely and accurate financial s and advice to the Branch Management Team and Corporate Finance on the financial performance of the branch
• Recommend procedure and system enhancement to improve financial monitoring and ing associated with the delivery of the capital and operational programs
• Provide training and guidance to staff and clear communications to branch staff on accounting, financial and budget matters
• Monitor the day-to-day operations of the finance team, ensuring accountability of their allocated responsibilities
• Being a positive role model and advocate for workplace health safety and wellbeing

Minimum Requirements Of The Role Include

• Degree in Accounting, Business or other financial discipline will be essential. Membership or eligibility for membership of a Professional Accounting Body is desirable (CPA/CA)
• Excellent financial and budget management knowledge and skills, with the ability to analyse, problem solve and on finance and business-related matters in accordance with organisational requirements
• Demonstrated experience leading and working as part of a high performing team to ensure achievement of outcomes including building, maintaining, and fostering good relationships with colleagues, team members and clients
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate financial and business-related issues clearly and concisely to non-finance professionals
• Excellent organisational and time management skills in order to simultaneously manage and monitor work programs to meet performance targets and corporate deadlines
• Self-motivated, highly organised and ability to work autonomously under limited direction and collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams
• Demonstrated ability to use financial management systems and the MS Office suite of software
• Possession of a “C” Class Drivers Licence
• Required to undergo a Police Check
