The Accounting Manager will bring together all aspects of group billing at the hotel between the hotel and the Financial Services Center (FSC). This position, reporting to the Assistant Director of Finance, is responsible for validation and coordination of cash consolidation as well management of property’s Account Payable and Accounts Receivable activity. This position will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing financial reports and transactions as appropriate. These efforts touch literally all aspects of a group’s visit from pre-arrival tasks to ensure billing and deposits go smoothly, thru the actual stay of the group ensuring all charges are posted and collected properly and following the stay to ensure the FSC billing staff has all that they to bill the account, and settle any disputes which may arise in the collection effort. The position interacts with all departments internally to achieve these objectives. This position manage and validate contract and lease controls. This position ensures that operations are in compliance with all internal control procedures. Additional responsibilities include preparing reports, cashier activities and taking inventories.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Provides day to day partnership and support on all components of accounting services related to property finances
• Ensures proper internal controls are in place and monitored through monthly self-testing
• Manages guest/client problem resolution and contact escalation
• Partner with accounting generalist to ensure daily cash consolidation reporting is timely, and accurate
• Ensures month end close is performed timely, compliant, and accurate
• Manages new implementations and improvement programs as necessary
• Continually monitors and reports metrics and KPIs to ensure service levels are maintained and targets are met.
• Prepares an action plan based on results of quarterly balance sheet reviews with property Director of Finance, Assistant Director of Finance, and/or Regional Director of Finance
• Upholds all company and industry standards pertaining to PCI compliance, guest/financial/payroll confidentiality and accounting best practice
• Reviews ledger reports weekly and monthly, identifying concerns and addressing them as soon as possible
• Monitors in-house group/convention bills to ensure proper application of charges and that credit limit is not exceeded

• Manages guest/client problem resolution and contact escalation.

• Perform ad hoc accounting activities in support of operations and Assistant Director of Finance and Director of Finance
• Attend precon meetings and client billing review, as necessary
• Ensures all hotel licenses/permits are renewed on a timely basis; tracks expiration dates and notifies management of deadlines
• Preparation and distribution of reports generated by the department
• Establishes and maintains files and distribute information, mail to shared services
• Manage and complete special projects as assigned by the Assistant Director of Finance and Director of Finance
• Research check payment questions posted by cash applications group (from check log)
• Manage “open folio” for items F.O. has not processed correctly and develop/deliver training local staff on handling of open folio issue
• Approves as needed all payroll submittals, accounts payable invoices, and manual checks
• Assists in the performance of monthly, quarterly and annual inventories as appropriate
• Regular attendance in conformance with standards
• May be required to work varying schedules to reflect business needs of the hotel
• Required to attend all training sessions and meetings
• Other duties as assigned

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. Bachelor’s in Accounting Preferred
• 3-5 years accounting experience required. Hospitality finance experience preferred. Previous management experience
