We are looking for a strong leader to drive the growth of the Systems Integration (SI) group for optical instruments. This department provides the SI engineering function within payload IPTs (Integrated Product Teams) to deliver optical subsystems to the LOBs (Lines of Businesses). To accomplish this goal, you should have a working understanding of the full requirements and verification life cycle. You will also need to demonstrate an understanding of high-level systems engineering capabilities and processes and LM design review standards. You will be responsible for CONOPS development, functional decomposition, and MNSE products to subsystems and components, system and subsystem verification planning and execution, internal interface definition and control, design review coordination, and system sell-off.

As Manager, you will:

• Provide leadership for the OPCoE Systems Integration organization
• Apply consistent functional decomposition methodology
• Advocate the consistent use of MBSE tools
• Manage and support employees, including assistance in development of personal, career and technical objectives
• Provide leadership responses to customer queries consistent with the program approved baseline

Basic Qualifications:

• Prior experience in a systems engineering role
• Proven technical and leadership abilities, with experience leading technical teams
• Broad experience across full range of system, subsystem, and/or component level specifications and associated requirements
• MBSE experience using CAMEO
• CONOPS development experience
• Active Top Secret clearance or equivalent

Desired Skills:

• Master’s degree or equivalent experience
• Experience with optical payloads
• At least 5 years of experience working with requirement database tools
• Proven ability to manage requirements across subsystems
• Excellent communications skills both verbal and written with the proven ability to communicate
• Demonstrated ability to drive closure and resolve complex technical issues/challenges
• Understanding of Military/DOD design methodology and standards
• Functional experience with multidisciplinary engineering teams
• Experience in developing high reliability space components or subsystems
• Experience developing EO instruments/sensors for space or airborne environments
• EO/systems engineering experience in optical sensor development, with hands-on experience in delivering hardware / products
• Ability to provide product development cost and schedule estimating which follows FAR guidelines
• Awareness of systems engineering analysis tools and techniques, and system modeling tools for active / passive optical payloads
• Design and fabrication of highly engineered (high TRL) systems
• Strong mentoring skills and experience
• Active TS/SCI clearance

Pay Rate:
In compliance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $127,700 – $212,800 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9×80 every other Friday off
