Position Summary ​
Position Description
The Allocation Associate will handle the day-to-day tasks of the specified core category business by working cross-functionally with the planning and buying teams to ensure inventory optimization needs are met daily. The allocation associate will oversee all core category DC mins, purchase orders, replenishment of domestic stock goods, and review of sales trends on top performing collections.
Responsibilities:
Domestic Stock Replenishment
Control inventory levels through MRP purchase order creation and transfers on stock orders based on past historical sales along with forecasted sales in order to achieve inventory stock goals and maximize sales
Leverage expertise to make decisions on the weekly flow of stock purchase orders to ensure inventory levels meet company goals
Reflow purchase orders as necessary to keep within company stock goals and prevent out of stocks/overages
Develop and manage relationships with suppliers to improve the delivery of the open order reports that will be used to determine the date accuracy of purchase orders
PO Management
Manage all category stock PO’s from time created through the time PO is received
Work cross functionally with the DC teams to reconcile PO receiving discrepancies
Ensure that all PO dates are updated
Work with suppliers to make sure Po delays are communicated via Open Order Reports
Category Min Management
Review and analyze sales trend data to drive decisions on min stock quantities at the item level that will be used to manage the overall DC inventory levels.
Determine the min update schedule for all core category suppliers on a weekly basis
Daily Distribution Center Calls/Category Review Meetings
Serve as allocation team representative for both daily distribution calls and core category meetings
Report and provide recaps on the daily distribution center calls to core business partners on urgent issues that can ultimately impact business
Collaborate with planners and buyers to discuss the current state of business and provide feedback on supplier issues, and address core category domestic inventory levels, purchase order receipt dates, and MRP replenishment.
Experience and Qualifications:
Prior experience in an allocation role preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Excel
Time Management and ability to multi-task
Ability to communicate between cross functional teams and provide suggestions to optimize category performance
Experience in working cross functionally with DC partners to reconcile PO discrepancies, and transfer delays
Qualifications
Education/Experience: Associates degree or equivalent from two or four-year college. One year experience in retail preferably in a an allocation or purchasing role. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual must have proficient level experience in Microsoft Office Excel, data tools, and databases.
