FINANCE MANAGER

ABOUT THIS POSITION

Reporting to the CEO, the Finance Manager role provides effective management of the organisation’s finances and operations. In this hands-on role, you will oversee and maintain financial systems and procedures, ensuring that all financial reporting, financial management and accountability requirements are met to support the organisation’s goal of maintaining its financial sustainability. You will also need to identify and deliver operational risk mitigation, IT and property management services and management of The Data Exchange (DEX) IT Portal, the Department of Social Services Community Grants Hub’s simple IT system approach to program performance reporting.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THIS ROLE

• Oversee the processing of all financial transactions using MYOB, including using job costing to manage multiple projects and cost centres
• Supervise and guide the bookkeeper and solve issues that arise
• Reconcile all financial accounts and balances monthly
• Prepare monthly profit and loss and balance sheet for internal purposes
• Prepare quarterly reports for the Board, including analysis and comparison to budget
• Prepare detailed annual budgets across multiple projects
• Prepare annual accounts and full audit work papers
• Manage corporate credit card facilities
• Maintain the company asset register
• Maintain the annual business and worker’s compensation insurance renewals
• Payroll, processing & reconciliation including leave provisions, salary sacrifice for PBI (Public Benevolent Institutions)
• Ensure compliance with Fair Work legislation
• Grant funding acquittals & compliance
• Attend to all Corporate accountabilities- ACNC, DGR
• Prepare and lodge quarterly BAS
• Manage DEX portal reporting
• Manage internal IT systems
• Ensure financial policies and procedures are efficient, effective, and properly documented

TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED

• Tertiary education in Finance or Accounting
• MYOB- Advanced, across all modules
• Excel- Advanced
• MYOB Exo payroll- highly desirable
• Attention to detail and strong administration skills

• Not for Profit financial administration or cause related financial management experience preferred
