Senior Civil/Structural Engineering Manager – Qatar

CLIENT

Linum Consult’s client is a major organisation operating out of Qatar. They are currently seeking a Senior Civil/Structural Engineering Manager to oversee the civil and structural design activities across Asia and Africa. This role is based in Qatar.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Developing company-wide frameworks and design systems in relation to civil and structural engineering
• Providing technical expertise to the Civil/ Structural Engineers across your allocated regions
• Developing guidelines to ensure all design decisions minimise cost and time overruns, whilst continuing to deliver high quality projects
• Overseeing the design submittals/ loading assumptions, soft and hard copies of calculations and drawings to provide comments and assurance on design standards, codes of safety and stability, strength and stiffness specifications where needed
• Supporting the civil and structural engineering of specific projects when necessary
• Supporting and validating the Consultants’ proposals, and providing advice and recommendations during the Consultants’ appointment
• Identifying any changes to the master plan that may have design implications, communicating them to stakeholders, and proposing mitigation strategies
• Liaising with the consultants to ensure that the engineer designs are as per the local regulations and international standards and codes of safety and stability
• Reviewing and distributing reports to project management in relation to any Engineering updates

PROFILE

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, ideally with a master’s qualification in a relevant field
• 12 years’ experience in the civil and structural design of real estate assets, with at least 8 years’ experience in a managerial role
• Strong knowledge and exposure within the real estate market
• Have an existing network of design consultants with proven capabilities in mixed-use development
• Able to innovate civil and structural design processes and horizontal/vertical designs
• Excellent communication and presentation skills in spoken and written English
