Come join our Auth team! A great opportunity has arisen in one of our greenfields teams with large projects on the horizon.
Linktree is in a substantial growth period and a key part of this growth is the expansion of our auth systems. The team is responsible for creating secure ways for users to access their accounts and building low-friction pathways for engineers and securing interservice communication.
This is a critical piece to the expansion of our engineering initiatives, covering technologies such as Auth0, OAuth, JWT and least privilege access controls.
We’re looking for a Staff Software Engineer to contribute to architecture, solutionising and maintenance of our authentication solutions. Translating technical initiatives into projects and communicating between product, engineering and stakeholder management.


Responsibilities

    • We hire with a people first approach. You will be curious, collaborative and focused on solving highly complex problems. We value a team first approach that leans on socialising solutions, rather than dictating.
    • Context gathering and documenting requirements from both product and engineering, translating them into solutions
    • Working through large scale projects and adhering to critical deadlines to unblock initiatives throughout the engineering organisation
    • Collaborate within engineering, to unlock authentication in new and existing services
    • Willingness to upskill engineers both in a close proximity and in the broader engineering organisationFocus on observability, documentation and testingTake part in a rotating on-call roster

Requirements

    • Experience with authentication, authorisation problem spaces
    • Auth0, OAuth, JWT, OWASP, least privilege access controls
    • Building and supporting microservices
    • Typescript, Node.js and ReactComfortability working with PHP
    • Familiarity with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP)
    • Monitoring and observability (Datadog, NewRelic, Sumologic)
    • Enthusiastic attitude, geared towards learning and adapting to new technologies
    • Strong communication skills and a passion for documentation

We are a global, diverse group across age, gender, and race and offer a truly flexible and family friendly work environment. All of us at Linktree work either fully remote or a hybrid “remote, but in-office sometimes” approach and that will continue even when COVID is behind us.
We currently have offices in Melbourne, Sydney and LA is coming next, but our team is spread across Australia, United States, and New Zealand. Growing from 20 people in early 2020, to 50 in 2021 and over 200 in 2022, Linktree is still growing rapidly!
Being globally distributed doesn’t mean working to one timezone and we offer autonomy and flexibility in how you structure your days and weeks. There will be the need for some collaboration outside of a “normal” 9-5 being a global company, but we aim to work asynchronously where possible.
