As a Staff Software Engineer, you will be a key technical leader and role model within the team. We are looking for someone who designs and develops technology to serve business and technology objectives, understands state-of-the-art networking research, aligns points of view across teams, and makes smart trade-offs.

On top of the leadership skills, a successful Staff Software Engineer must exhibit strong technical skills in software engineering and networking.

• Deliver impact by building features and influencing the roadmap of our production network operating system (SONiC)
• Participate in the full lifecycle of software development : design, develop, test, operate, and improve
• Track state-of-the-art research in modern networking technologies and actively identify new problems to be solved
• Work closely with the network engineering and application teams to agree on the future direction of the system
• Bring structure to ambiguous business problems and translate them into an actionable plan
• Improve the level of craftsmanship by developing best practices and mentoring other engineersBasic Qualifications :
• BA / BS Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline or equivalent practical experience
• 4+ years of industry experience in software design, development, and algorithm related solutions
• 4+ years programming experience in languages such as C / C++, Java, etc.Preferred Qualifications
• Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline
• 10+ years of professional software development experience
• Experience in SONiC
• Experience or interest in networking concepts, including topics such as OpenConfig, YANG, or Streaming Telemetry
• Experience in automated network software testing, including Robot framework
• Experience in architecting, building, and operating large-scale distributed systems running in a 24×7 production environment
• Coding experience with Go / Python / RustSuggested Skills :

• Network SoftwareLinkedln is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.The pay range for this role is $144,000 to $235,000.

Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.

This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.The total compensation package for this position may also include annual performance bonus, stock, benefits and / or other applicable incentive compensation plans.
