LinkConnector Corporation Hiring for Principal Software Engineer at Remote Full Time

LinkConnector (LC) is seeking a full-time Principal Software Engineer to join and lead our IT/Technology functions and team members. This role requires high-level architecture and design capabilities along with the hands-on expertise to code, test and implement solutions. A critical aspect of this role is to understand our Affiliate Marketing business and how to incorporate new functionality and enhance our existing applications. Eventually, we are looking to redesign existing internal and customer-facing applications with state-of-the-art web solutions. This role requires a strong understanding of Full Stack Developer responsibilities, utilizing JavaScript, HTML, PHP, LAMP Stack, ProxySQL, WordPress, Azure cloud hosting, and Bootstrap and jQuery frameworks.

LinkConnector is a fully remote company, and so is this role. Candidates located in the Raleigh/Research Triangle Park area would be a plus as several of our leaders live nearby.

Communication/Technology/Leadership Responsibilities:

• Interface with other senior company leaders on business objectives and priorities.
• Bring professional Software Engineering and Application Architecture concepts and best practices to improve the software design of LC’s proprietary software and, eventually, redesign and modernize applications.
• Work with LC’s management and technology team members to identify and implement continuous process improvement opportunities for LC’s applications serving our business customers.
• Formulate and communicate ideas, then plan and make recommendations to IT team members, LC’s management team and LC’s customers.
• Inform and influence changes to the business and its software to achieve operational excellence and revenue growth.
• Apply strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to determine root causes of problems to determine the best situational solutions.
• Apply technical and professional expertise and work ethic to facilitate the on-schedule delivery of high-quality products and service.

Your Role:

• Manage and expand current IT department to accomplish IT strategic vision and operational priorities to include design, tasking, coding, testing, and implementation.
• Work with LC team members to help translate customer needs into design/application specifications.
• Assist new and existing customers with the necessary JavaScript code to ensure proper tracking of their Affiliate Marketing program with LinkConnector.
• Manage and enhance internal processes to manage and extract data from LC’s databases.
• Manage and enhance various system monitoring and logging tools.
• Manage and enhance common libraries and developer tools.
• Manage and enhance ing system and related tables to include external APIs.
• Manage and enhance various crawlers and bots.
• Manage LC’s WordPress site and custom LC plugin.
• Manage customer-facing user interface and employee utilities.
• Manage Azure platform services and Cloudflare configuration.
• Manage server monitoring and issue resolution to include intrusion detection and mitigation.
• Document all forms of knowledge (processes, procedures, specifications, designs, code, etc.).

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of web software development experience, including systems design.
• 5+ years of using web focused MVC frameworks.
• 5+ years of experience with service-oriented architecture (SOA) or RESTful web services.
• 5+ years of experience with web client-side application frameworks.
• Strong understanding of relational database concepts.
• Ability to effectively test and document your own work.
• Great organizational and time-management skills, including an ability to estimate project completion times.
• Ability to juggle multiple projects, tasks, and deadlines.
• Self-motivated and self-directed: We need someone who will proactively tackle challenges and propose innovative solutions.
• Great communication skills: both written and verbal as LC developers occasionally respond directly to customers, so the ability to correspond professionally is critical.
• Anticipate business needs and communicate/pitch new ideas.
• Ability to work in a remote environment.
• Expert knowledge of Application Architecture models and methodologies.
• Expert knowledge of System Engineering constructs.
• Expert knowledge of development frameworks, libraries and methods (as well as the underlying tools).
• Ability to participate, hands-on, across many phases of the Software Development Life Cycle: Business Analysis, IT Project Management, Systems Architecture, Systems Design, Software Development, and QA Testing.
• Ability to teach and mentor across the IT organization.

Required Technical Proficiencies:

• HTML / CSS / JavaScript
• jQuery and Bootstrap frameworks
• PHP 5.6 (plus 7.x and 8.x for a planned upgrade)
• MySQL 5.7+ or other RMDBS
• Azure and Cloudflare platforms
• Ubuntu server setup, maintenance, and management via SSH
• Google, Stack Overflow, Packagist, and GitHub

Desired Education/Experience:

• Minimum of a 4-year college degree.
• 10+ years of web software development experience.
• Systems design and architecture; Emphasis on Web Application Development / Client-Side Development.

Pay: $120,000.00 – $160,000.00 per year
