Link Learning Part-Time Special Education Teacher (In center, 20 hrs/week daytime hrs)

Job Description

Position Title: Michigan Certified Special Education Teacher – Part Time, In Center
Reports to: Special Education Coordinator
Starting Salary Range: $20,500
Primary Function: The primary function of the virtual Special Education teacher is to provide
individualized instruction to all students on their caseload based on IEP goals.
Special Education Teacher Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop and implement annual Individualized Educational Program (IEP) plans for

students to include: present levels of educational performance, special education needs,
instructional goals and objectives, and the special education and related services
required to meet those goals.

• Collaborate with parents and school staff to track students’ progress and report quarterly

to parent

• Complete REED documentation for 3 year re-evaluations
• Create and lead virtual sessions to target IEP goals
• Create a weekly part-time schedule in designated center
• Deliver student specialized instruction via virtual formats (such as ZOOM or Google Hangouts)
• Document all parent/student interactions in Pulse
• Collaborate with parents and students over 18 through meetings and progress reports
• Collaborate weekly with the center and support staff (e.g. mentors, center directors,

social workers) to create holistic intervention plans

• Attend Student Service Team Meetings, IEPs, and individual meetings with Special Ed.

Coordinator.

• Maintain current certification
• Follow communication guidelines
• Attend in-person trainings as required (typically once/year in Grand Rapids, MI)

Qualifications
1.Valid State of Michigan Special Education Certification Granted by the Professional Teaching Standards Board.

2. Experience/skills with computer and computer software programs, such as Google Suite, and student management systems.

3. Ability to initiate and complete tasks with self-direction in a timely manner.

4. Excellent English and grammar skills, proofreading skills, oral and written communications skills.

5. Ability to effectively operate various systems and office equipment.

6. Demonstrated understanding of the use of technology in both instructional and operational settings.

7. Strong interpersonal and public relations skills including the ability to speak clearly and concisely both in oral and written communications.

8 Must exhibit a pleasant personality and positive attitude toward working with administration, staff and community members. Evidence of ability to establish working relationships that result in mutual respect.

9. Ability to handle multiple projects in an efficient and effective manner.

10. Teacher applicants must be a self-starter, and independent thinker. It is essential in this position that the candidate is a very strong problem solver.
