Linguabilities Hiring for Remote Teacher of the Visually Impaired – Part-Time Job at Remote Full Time

We are hiring for a part-time referral-based contract teacher of the visually impaired for virtual school districts in Georgia and Florida for the 22-23 school year. Responsibilities include virtual screenings, vision assessments, instruction based in visually-impaired education (including Braille), initial and re-evaluations for special education, meeting attendance, consultation, and potentially case management. Will participate as a part of an IEP team. MUST have Department of Education certification for TSVI in Georgia and Florida well as your state of residence (pending accepted).

Experience:

• 1-3 years teacher of the visually impaired experience in schools (required)
• 1+ years telepractice experience (required)

• Experience teaching blind students in UEB and other forms of Braille (required)

Licensure/Certification:

• GA DOE Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TSVI) certificate (pending accepted)
• FL DOE Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TSVI) certificate (pending accepted)
• Bachelors degree or higher in exceptional student education or major in visually impaired education (required)

Skills:

• Attention to detail and organization
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially through phone and email
• Strong problem solving skills for educational evaluations and assessment interpretation
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Proficient computer skills
