Our client, is one of the largest privately-owned civil engineering and infrastructure specialists, is looking to employ a Site Engineer on a permanent basis to be responsible for several projects within the region. The Site Engineer will establish the level and survey control for contracts and set out detailed works as per the contract drawings, ensuring that checks are made on a regular basis.
The right candidate would need demonstrable experience of the responsibilities below.

• Ensure work is delivered defect/snag-free
• Endeavour to spot and highlight value engineering opportunities
• Establish the level and survey control for contracts
• Set out detailed works as per the contract drawings, ensuring checks are carried out on a regular basis
• Ensure that records are accurate and comply with organisational and legal requirements
• Resolve any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise at any time
• Produce procurement schedules for the jobs and liaise with our procurement department to ensure site has adequate resources to complete the tasks
• Produce ITPs and Task Briefings
• Produce 2 week look ahead in conjunction with the Site Agent
• Produce Site Diaries and Allocation Sheets
• Accurate and timely setting out of the works
• Timely handover of works and Quality records without outstanding defects
• Production of accurate records, drawing registers and weekly diaries
• Develop good working relationships with site workforce and customer’s technical representative
Minimum Experience Needed:
•Experienced in project engineering involving tunnelling and multi-utility packages within large civil engineering/infrastructure schemes, up to 5m in value.
•Experience in project engineering and coordinating complex design and pre-construction stages.
•Familiarity, with NEC 3 Option A, B, C and E type contracts and a proficient commercial acumen.
•(Knowledge of working to a high level of assurance in both design and construction, including all aspects of the life cycle of a national infrastructure construction project. Including Quality Assurance and Post Construction Work Package Plans)
Qualifications Needed:
• Degree qualified/HNC (or equivalent) in civil engineering
Training Required:
• CSCS card
• Cable avoidance training
• First aid training
• NEBOSH or IOSH
• CPCS Crane Supervisor
• Temporary Works Supervisor
If rate of pay is a sliding scale what is needed to get to the top amount:
• Further Extensive experience as a Site Engineer in the utilities construction sector.
• Further relevant qualifications or a professional membership with a relevant body.
• Further significant demonstrable experience with all points outlined in the job description and minimum experience section.
