Linear Recruitment Ltd Looking for Principal Engineer at Leeds, West Yorkshire Full Time

Our client, a leading construction and infrastructure main contractor, is looking to employ a Principal Engineer on a permanent basis to deliver a broad range of complex Civil and Structural and related services in both temporary and permanent works.

The right candidate would need demonstrable experience of the responsibilities below.

Responsibilities:
• Lead on a broad range of Civil and Structural projects.
• Temporary Works design focus, providing designs and support for projects for various clients.
• Permanent Works designs for buildings, highways, and infrastructure.
• Supervise the production of BIM models to support tender schemes.
• Provide design management advice to support bid winning and project delivery
• Lead the development of technical standards and design processes.
• Identify risks and solutions to facilitate scoping, pricing, designing and construction.
• Provide delivery of bespoke training courses to site-based and construction personnel.

The Person:
• Chartered Professional of a relevant professional institution (e.g. CEng MICE).
• Strong demonstrable experience undertaking a wide range of Civil and Structural design in both temporary and permanent works.

Minimum experience needed:
• Demonstratable engineering lead experience with a main contractor on buildings, highways, or infrastructure projects.
• Demonstratable engineering experience with a main contractor regarding temporary works.

Qualifications needed:
• Industry applicable professional qualification (ONC/HNC/B.Eng or NVQ equivalent) in construction/engineering discipline.
• Charter Professional of a relevant professional institution (e.g. CEng MICE).

If rate of pay is a sliding scale, what is needed to get to the top amount:
• Significant demonstratable engineering experience with a Leading/Main Contractor on buildings, highways, and infrastructure projects, and regarding temporary works.
• Demonstratable experience of responsibility for project delivery with a contractor on buildings, highways, or infrastructure projects.
• Chartered Professional
• Significant demonstratable experience with all job description responsibilities.

The salary banding is indicative and dependent on experience. Details on the full package are to be discussed during shortlisting.
