Linear Recruitment Ltd Looking for CAD Design Engineer at Plymouth, Devon Full Time

Our client, a leading water infrastructure contractor, is looking to employ a CAD Design Engineer on a permanent basis to be responsible for the design of new Installations from P&ID’s and layouts for a number of schemes across the region.

The role would require the right candidate to undertake, and have demonstrable experience in, the responsibilities below.

Main responsibilities:
• Working from P&ID’s and layouts to design new installations.
• Pipework detailing and drawings.
• Structural steelwork GA’s
• Co-ordinate & liaise with other internal and external mechanical, electrical, civil designers, sub-contractors & suppliers.
• Attend internal design reviews.
• Carry out site surveys
• Assist with the design verification & validation processes.
• Evaluation of potential hazards through design risk assessments.
• Control of changes & effect during design & development process.
• Control the flow of design documentation and filing using proprietary document control systems

The experience we are looking for in a candidate:
• AutoCAD 3D Revit Experience is necessary. (AutoCAD Plant 3D.)
• Experience in a process industry design role.
• Mechanical Engineering qualification – NVQ, HNC, HND, Graduate.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft software packages.

Minimum Experience Needed:
• Demonstratable experience in a process industry design role.
• Demonstratable experience using AutoCAD 3D and Revit, including AutoCAD Plant 3D
• Computer literacy including Microsoft Suite

Qualifications Needed:
• Mechanical Engineering qualification – NVQ, HNC, HND, Graduate.

If rate of pay is a sliding scale what is needed to get to the top amount:
• Significant demonstratable experience in a process industry design role with a leading contractor.
• Demonstrable experience with all job description responsibilities.
• Demonstratable experience with all points in the minimum experience section.

The salary banding is indicative and dependent on experience. Details on the full package are to be discussed during shortlisting.
