How you’ll contribute:

As the Accounting Manager, you will take ownership for understanding and interpreting accounting standards and corporations’ law as they relate to the business. You will be responsible for providing leadership and financial expertise to ensure timely and accurate delivery of financial and management reporting, ongoing systems and process improvements, tax, and internal controls compliance.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and monitor appropriate financial systems, procedures, and internal controls
• Daily control activities with respect to reporting, compliance, accounts payable, treasury and accounts receivable transactions
• Manage the workload and outputs of the accounting team to ensure financial processes and records are maintained and delivered
• Co-ordination of the month-end and year-end close process ensuring internal close deadlines are met. This includes ensuring reporting is compliant with group and local reporting requirements, overseeing the external audit process and reviewing financial results before submitting to management
• Secure compliance with local tax, legal and accounting practice & legislation by preparing external tax and other reporting deliverables
• Be the internal controls champion by ensuring adherence to the company’s control framework, identifying weaknesses, and suggesting remediation plans
• Guide and mentor, the development of accounting team members
• Support designated business units by providing information, analysis, and clarity to enable more informed decision making
• Assist the commercial finance team in the preparation of estimates, forecasts, and the final budget
• Assist the Financial Controller with overseeing recruitment, supervision, and direction of team members as and when needed
• Perform adhoc analysis pro-actively or as directed, to provide financial and analytical support to the Chief Financial Officer as and when needed
• Be actively involved in local continuous improvement initiatives and projects initiated by head office
• Be a point of reference to resolve any problems that the finance team may incur during the day-to-day operations

What you will bring:

• Experience in a financial practice with multinational subsidiary
• Experience in supervision of an accounting team.
• Experience with ERP system and financial reporting systems
• CPA, CA or equivalent (essential) and degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant
• Knowledge of internal controls (SOX) and accounting systems (SAP)
• Familiarity with Australian company tax, fringe benefits tax, withholding tax and GST legislations
• Good working knowledge of the application of the Australian accounting standards (AIFRS) and statutory accounting principles
• Advanced level skills in Excel and proficient across a range of MS suite platforms and other reporting systems and tools
• An analytical mind, commercial and business awareness
• High level attention to detail
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Able to work independently in a deadline-oriented environment
