The School Admissions Team coordinates admissions to the normal year of entry in schools and at other times, working with around 24,000 families every year.
We are looking for someone who will provide, on a day to day basis, a high quality service in the management of all school admissions throughout the County, both for the normal year of entry and midyear. The successful candidate will deliver a high quality independent school admission appeals service both where the Council is the admission authority for the school under appeal and where own admission authority schools commission this.
We are looking for someone who is educated to A Level or the equivalent and has preferably at least 2 years’ experience of working in a local authority or school or equivalent setting.
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated individual who has a basic knowledge of education law and statutory codes of practice with respect to admissions and related issues, practices and procedures and relevant statutory and County Council policies. Proven experience with working in a school or a local authority team is essential. Being able to work under pressure in a changing environment and to strict statutory deadlines is essential.
Basic skills in the assembling of data and the use of spreadsheets to display it will be required.
