Job Description

Lilac is seeking a chemical engineer to participate in process engineering studies and detailed engineering for commercial scale lithium brine extraction projects. Responsibilities will include analyzing the mass and energy balances of the overall flowsheet for the processing facility in relation to Lilac’s DLE Technology. The candidate will analyze and develop lithium production, yield, energy efficiency, water efficiency and reagent use for various configurations and applications. Periodic travel will be required to the Oakland, California technical and fabrication teams, EPCM engineering contractor location and project sites. This is a full-time position.

Candidate Requirements

Degree in chemical engineering or related field with 5-10+ years of experience in chemical or materials manufacturing

Experience with process design, developing chemical equipment specifications, piping design and sizing, equipment commissioning and plant integration.

Advanced experience with chemical process modeling and balance of plant

Highly organized with sharp attention to numerical detail

Excited to work on a small fast-paced startup team with a drive to succeed and grow with the company

Preferred

South American experience

Spanish language skills

Scale up of novel chemical process technologies

Commissioning and operations experience
