Lift Community Services is Looking for Qualitative Researcher – (Contractor) Full Time

INTRODUCTION

Lift Community Services is seeking a qualitative researcher for two (2) years to support the evaluation of a Health Canada Substance Use and Addictions Program (SUAP).

ABOUT THE PROJECT

The Qualitative Researcher Reports to the Food Systems Manager, working in accordance with the mission and philosophy of Lift. The Qualitative Researcher is responsible for planning, gathering and processing data to report on the measurables related but not limited to; target population, performance measurement, baseline data, short medium- and long-term outcomes, health outcomes, output and activities of the project.

The Researcher will use the SUAP provided documents to understand and report on the project’s ongoing infrastructure over the next 2 years providing updates as requested by the granting body.

Project Timeline:

2 years. April 2023 – March 2025

Compensation and Budget:

Compensation and/or contractor fees will be competitive for the type of work and industry, as well as commensurate with candidate experience. Candidates are invited to share their compensation and/or fee expectations with their application. We have an approximate budget of $10,000 per year and anticipate a workload of 16-20 hours per month.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

• Using the funder directed workbook, understand and create evaluation processes to collect the data needed.
• Review and Submit evaluation and qualitative data
• Collect data with unbiased opinions and quality control
• Attend work parties, workshops and weekly shifts to connect with the team and witness work/activities.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Education
  • At least (2) year of recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Specialized knowledge
  • Knowledge of Substance Use and concurrent disorders.
  • Understands the therapeutic role of food and land connection to individual growth and freedom.
  • Possesses knowledge of theories, principles, and practices in the field of mental health and addiction services.
  • Understands the needs of individuals with concurrent disorders.
  • Is familiar with common health issues and is sensitive to cultural and ethnic taboos and teachings related to gender.
  • Maintains a basic awareness of “street culture”.
