POSITION OVERVIEW:

As the human resources (HR) officer for LHS, you’ll conduct end-to-end recruitment and performance reviews, develop and implement HR initiatives and systems and maintain a positive relationship with LHS’ diverse pool of talent. Your primary mission is to maintain adequate numbers of skilled and dedicated support staff that cater to our disability clients. On top of that, we hope you’ll be eager to expand your knowledge of Australian employment laws. LHS wants to create a thriving workplace that our employees love, and employee welfare is a top priority. As our HR officer, you’re the gatekeeper of LHS and are integral to driving change. REQUIREMENTS:

Not everyone can be an HR officer. To be seriously considered for the role, please have the following:

· Experience: At least 2 years experience in a human resources or recruitment position

· Education: Tertiary degree in Human Resources Management

· Skills: You must understand the process of end-to-end recruiting and our legal obligations as an employer. If you have strong opinions and ideas, you’ll fit right in because we need someone who isn’t shy to tell management about areas that need improvement. We also need someone proficient in Australian HR laws and HR functions (pay & benefits, recruitment, disciplinary procedures, training and development). Finally, we need someone who can shape the performance review process and elevate it to a new level.

· Characteristics: This is an autonomous role that requires someone who is self-driven and self-motivated. This role isn’t for the faint of heart and will require a lot of problem-solving, decision-making, creativity and the ability to take initiative.An exceptional ability to communicate and relate to others is vital.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

As Life Health Services’ sole HR officer, you will play a crucial role as the gatekeeper to our expanding organisation. You’ll ensure our new employees fit our evolving culture and represent our strong core values.

As we grow to establish a strong HR department, you’ll be responsible for:

• Executing end-to-end recruitment of talent (including outsourcing and offshore recruiting) through crafting job ads and job descriptions and facilitating the hiring process
• Crafting a novel onboarding program and implementing new onboarding software
• Shaping training and development programs
• Defining and executing performance management processes
• Mediating and facilitating disciplinary and grievance issues with management
• Conserving employee records according to policy and legal requirements
• Advising on updates to policies and procedures
• Reviewing areas of compliance from an employment perspective (i.e. Fair Work requirements and working conditions)
• Building a thriving relationship with LHS employees and ensuring the knowledge of both employer and employee responsibilities are maintained
