Elementary School Art Teacher

Position Narrative:

The Teacher will plan, organize and implement an appropriate instructional program that guides students to learn, grow and advance to fulfill their academic potential.

Position Duties and Responsibilities:

Prepare lessons, lesson materials and delivers instruction to facilitate active learning.

• Prepare lesson plans that follow Core Knowledge Art for each grade level.
• Maintain classroom management to benefit all students ability to learn
• Provide appropriate feedback on students work
• Assign and grade class work, homework, and test
• Actively monitor student behavior in the school building and playground
• Observe and evaluate student’s performance and development
• Monitor dress code violations and have the courage to enforce
• Hold students accountable to LTA behavior expectations
• Measure progress and accomplishments of students towards their academic achievements on a regular basis and provide progress s as required
• Understand how to work with a team of faculty to provide consistent teaching methods in any classroom
• Be committed to always do what is best for all students
• Dress modestly and appropriately for a professional environment with children
• Positive and solution-based attitude
• Able to have open and respectful communication with families, co-workers, and supervisors

Minimum work experience and education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Art-related field

Conditions of Employment:
