Liberty Hiring for Water Operator II – Production at Apple Valley, CA Full Time

Purpose

Performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled technical duties in the operation and maintenance of domestic and/or recycled water production equipment, water treatment facilities, and storage reservoirs. Completes assigned production tasks with direct supervision or instruction. Oversees some of the production contracted work and any other duties or projects that may be assigned.

Accountabilities

• s and communicates to his or her supervisor on matters regarding the condition and maintenance needs of production facilities, daily activities, needed repairs, hazards, challenges, etc
• Maintains production facilities and keeps records of all completed maintenance
• Provides SCADA after-hours standby duty
• Utilizes digital literacy to enter data, maintain records and prepare s electronically
• Schedules daily activities and inputs weekly time cards
• Maintains documents, safety procedures, and records
• Must maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work. This includes, but is not limited to, those to whom the position s to, supervisors, coworkers, public, vendor, contractors, etc
• Exercises independent judgment, discretion, integrity, and tact in all areas of work including matters of a sensitive and/or confidential manner
• Able to follow Company rules, procedures, and directions from a supervisor
• Must be self-motivated, organized, and able to balance multiple projects and tasks
• Work independently and function in a team environment
• Complete required daily paperwork
• Investigates water quality problems in the distribution system
• Acts promptly in emergency situations
• Operates various hand and power tools and mechanical equipment
• Assists in setting up work area traffic controls
• Works weekends, holidays, overtime, and standby duty when required
• Drives Company vehicles and helps maintain the cleanliness by keeping the vehicles organized, washed
• Follows all safety policies, practices, and procedures. Maintains safe working conditions. s all unsafe activities to supervisor, EHS Manager, and/or Human Resources
• Performs various other duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor, or in his or her absence, the Operations Manager

Education and Experience

• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
• A minimum of a Grade D2 and T2 Treatment issued by the SWRCB DDW or be able to obtain it within 18 months of hire date.
• Must have knowledge and experience with operation and maintenance of well pumps and motors (electric and natural gas); SCADA system; Cla-Val valves; chlorination equipment; water treatment equipment; reservoir operation and maintenance; and some basic electrical maintenance
• Possess a valid California Class C driver license with an acceptable driving record and travel occasionally
• Experience with start-up, shutdown, and safe operation of water production equipment
• Have effective verbal and written skills to communicate in English with internal and external customers under normal and adverse conditions
• Required experience with and utilize communication devices and basic skills in PC Windows operations, word processing, spreadsheets, and database software. Experience with Microsoft programs is preferred
• Must have a high degree of accuracy
• Must maintain a professional appearance as a front-line representative of the Company

Compensation

$23.11 – $34.66/hr
