Liberty Diversified International Hiring for Process Engineer at Becker, MN Full Time

As the Coater Process Engineer with Liberty Paper Inc., you will support DreamWorks Coating Solutions goals and activities by providing continued analysis, evaluation and optimization of equipment, processes, and products to ensure efficiency, quality, sales growth, and customer satisfaction. The Process Engineer works directly with the Coater Superintendent, and other facility leaders to continuously improve our systems in the areas of safety, quality, production, products, and cost.

This full-time position s directly to the Dreamworks Coating Solutions Business Unit Leader and is located at Liberty Paper’s paper mill in Becker, Minnesota.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for daily engagement with the production teams concerns and issues. Provides daily CI support to Coater production operations, and works closely with the superintendent, maintenance, and the operators
• Assists teams and employees with troubleshooting issues and problems
• Continual evaluation and optimization of equipment and processes to ensure both efficiency and quality
• Process Analysis Before/After shutdowns and newly modified equipment
• Data collection, interpretation and writing
• Commissioning, qualification, and training associated with new process equipment
• Responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing new and existing products based on customer requirements and feedback
• Responsible for leading and/or participating on CI teams
• Participates in safety and operational risk assessments
• Drives process optimization efforts

PROCESS TRIAL COORDINATION RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manages chemical authorization of new trial products
• Plans and conducts process and product trials
• Works with vendors to procure chemicals and equipment
• Trial data analysis and trial summary/

QUALITY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Participates in quality incidents including investigation, root cause and corrective actions
• Manages the collaborative testing program

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

• Engineering degree

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

• Coater Process Knowledge
• 3-5 years’ experience the pulp and paper industry
• Basic corrugated knowledge
• Basic logic/programming knowledge
• Very good computer skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• High level of initiative and motivation
• Strong communication skills, oral and written. Ability to share technical ideas and concepts with the public and non-technical personnel
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Strong teamwork/relationship-building skills. Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
• Self-motivated
