Job Details

We have an number of opportunities for Benefits Assessors Level 1. The main purpose of the role will be to process documentation relating to existing claims for Housing & Council Tax Support for DWP and general income changes. Liaise with customers both verbally and in writing to obtain evidence relating to the customers Identity, Household, Income, and Capital status.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

• Process documents for Housing & Council Tax Support within Liberata operational model.
• Ensure claims are determined at the earliest opportunity and within upper quartile limits
• Ensure requests for supporting evidence are clear and concise.
• Ensure items affecting subsidy and overpayments are coded correctly on core system.
• Ensure information relating to the customers Council Tax account is provided to the council tax department at the earliest opportunity.
• Ensure the Performance Management tool is completed accurately and weekly performance table provided to the Line Manager in a timely manner.
• Play an active role in weekly and monthly Employee review (121) meetings.
• Ensure knowledge is kept up to speed in relation to Liberata and site policies

Essential Skills and Attributes:

• Educated to GCSE level or equivalent with minimum 5 grades A-C including English and Maths.
• Experienceunderstanding in meeting targets and developing own performance.
• Competency in use of various IT systems.
• Good verbal and written communication skills
