L3 Harris Micreo is a Brisbane-based subsidiary of L3Harris Technologies, providing design, manufacture, integration and sustainment of high-reliability Electronic Warfare components, subsystems and systems using wideband Radio Frequency and photonic technology to detect, guide and protect in extreme operating environments.

What the role will involve

The responsibilities of your role will include the following:

• Develop modular, readable and robust code for defence systems adhering to security and functional requirements
• Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, systems engineering, agile development, review, testing, integration, and verification
• Present design details during internal and customer reviews
• Collaborate effectively with both software and other engineering disciplines as well as management, to ensure comprehensive coverage of requirements as efficiently as possible
• Mentor less experienced engineers

What you’ll bring

The role of Senior Software Engineer requires the following experience and skills:

• Degree in Software Engineering or similar discipline
• 4+ years’ experience in similar role
• Experience in developing software and firmware for microcontrollers in C/C++, bare metal and/or with an operating system
• Ability to work independently or as part of a multi-disciplinary team, adhering to development processes
• Ability to read and review schematics, and make recommendations on embedded systems designs
• Experience establishing DevOps infrastructure (especially including classified code – highly desirable)
• Experience in programming and simulation of logic circuitry in VHDL (desirable)
• Experience developing ATE software using various tools including Labview (desirable)
• Experience programming serial interfaces such as CAN, SPI, UART, Ethernet (desirable)
• Experience with Python or another scripting language (desirable)
