Position Summary

The Purchasing Agent is responsible for buying materials and supplies as necessary while remaining within the budget of the job or project.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Purchases buy out items for the company in accordance with applicable quality requirements. Solicits and processes bids and quotes as required.
• Monitors and maintains adequate project applicable inventory.
• Invoice reconciliation and review for proper payment/billing/job allocation.
• Issue purchase orders to suppliers.
• Maintains accurate virtual and hard copy files of purchase order requisitions, material receiving s, shop drawings and test s.
• The ability to work overtime and regular, punctual attendance is required.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent with an associate s degree in management or equivalent experience is required. Five years experience in a purchasing department for a construction or manufacturing company with one year of supervisory experience preferred.

Physical Demands

Must be able to work weekends and long hours in a high pressure working environment. Must be accessible at any hour for emergencies. Requires frequent bending, stooping and lifting. Must be able to sit for extended periods of time and work directly on a computer. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally. All of the physical demands listed are essential functions.
