To support our finance team we are looking for a Finance Assistant

to start as soon as possible.

Your tasks:

• To provide support to the Accounts department ensuring that the hotel maintains accurate and prompt payments to suppliers and employees
• To maintain an accurate and up to date Sales Ledger, aiming to achieve the company’s debtor days outstanding (DSO), maximizing cash flow and minimizing overdue debts and potential bad debt
• To ensure all Hotel receipts are processed accurately, in a timely manner and for any discrepancies to be resolved and/or accounted for.
• To log, enter, process and monitor all invoices to ensure correct payments to suppliers of the hotel and maintain good relationships with them.
• To prepare and accurately process the hotel’s payment runs
• To assist Hotel Accountant with period end processes, ensuring accurate financial information and reporting
• To ensure all sales invoices are sent out in accordance with company standards
• To ensure all monies received are posted correctly, recorded and receipted in accordance to company policy
• To collect monies owed to the hotel and minimise the risk of bad debt
• To resolve sales and purchase ledger queries promptly.

Your skills:

• Effective communicator to suppliers/debtors, guests and employees
• Previous experience in a self-accounting unit/business
• Use of Sage and Optima an advantage
• Computer literate with regards to Excel and spreadsheets
• Able to work on own initiative
• Good problem-solving and decision-making skills
