Leonardo DRS Hiring for Technician, Manufacturing Support at Ottawa, ON Full Time

As a Technician, Manufacturing Support, your main responsibilities will include (but not limited to):

Performs tool design using Jig’s, Fixtures or Stencils, etc.;

Develops and implements production aids;

Assists in the implementation of new products both internal and external;

Helps support production estimates;

Production support on a day to day basis;

Assists in the preparation of reports and proposals of a technical nature;

Audits production builds with regard to routings, drawings, tooling and equipment;

Supports process equipment in all areas;

Provides training/coaching on manufacturing techniques and equipment to production staff;

Assists in the evaluation of new equipment and future requirements; and

Programs various process equipment.

What you require to be successful in the role:
Possession of an electrical engineering technician/technologist diploma and/or equivalent work experience;

2 to 5 years of related work experience in an electronics manufacturing environment;

Good problem solving skills are key to make independent studies, analyses, interpretations, and conclusions;

Effective technical report writing skills to collect, organize, analyze, and interpret data for varied audiences;

CAD/CAM experience is a must;

Ability to coach production personnel on manufacturing processes;

Highly effective customer service skills;

SMT experience would be a definite asset;

Sound understanding of Just in Time and MRP II principles;

Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize and meet work schedules;

Ability to manage multiple technical assignments;

Excellent communication skills (written and verbal);

Proven team player in a multifunctional and changing technical environment; and

Excellent interpersonal skills.
