Our Adult Education team offers classes in ESOL (English to Speakers of Other Languages) for adults of all ages and computer and technology assistance to older adult clients throughout the organization. The Technology Education Coordinator will help us to deliver and expand critical technology support and computer education to an ever-growing population of older adults in need of digital skills.

The Technology Education Coordinator will:

• Administer one-on-one technology support to older adults on a wide range of topics, devices and operating systems. Provide assistance with issues such as connecting to Zoom, setting up online accounts with Google or MyChart, taking photos with a smartphone and much more;

• Teach and develop a curriculum for technology education classes (e.g., computer basics, online safety, mobile device skills, etc.);

• Recruit, train and manage a large cohort of technology assistance volunteers of varying skill levels and expertise who will have a particular focus on working with older adults; coordinate volunteer and client schedules and match clients with appropriate volunteers;

• ·Manage and maintain database to assess new clients and track their participation, learning and success;

• Work collaboratively with Lenox Hill Neighborhood House’s Older Adult Centers, Geriatric Care Management program and others to improve client access to technology skills and resources

Qualifications:

The successful applicant will have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree and experience in the field of human services, particularly related to older adults. The applicant should have at least two years’ experience teaching in computer education or adult education. Applicant must possess strong computer skills and be current with computer and mobile device advancements in technology. They should be patient, approachable and have excellent interpersonal skills. Experience managing or working with volunteers preferred. Spanish or Chinese fluency preferred. Successful applicants will be dedicated to empowering older adults and to serving those in need.
